Cupping in Hackney
My private massage studio is located a five minute walk from Old Street, Underground Station.
Cupping is an ancient method of treatment that has been used in the therapy and cure of a broad range of conditions throughout the Eastern and Western cultures of the world. Conditions of blood and muscular related disorders such as hypertension, rheumatic conditions ranging from arthritis, sciatica, displaced bones, ligaments and spine, back pain and migraines through to psycho-social applications in the treatment of anxiety and general physical and mental well-being. It is a comfortable, safe and effective treatment to alleviate local congestion and stagnation of blood flow: a vacuum is created in glass cups placed on the skin by means of heat and suction which draws up the underlying tissue, removing old stagnating blood and toxins, breaking down adhesions and releasing fascia around the muscles, improving mobility and flexibility right after each treatment. Cupping therapy has been further developed as a mean to open the meridians of the body to conduit energy flows to every part of the body and trough every organ and tissue. It can be used as stand alone treatment or combined with massage therapy: different cupping techniques such as flash, localised and moving cupping are used to treat a variety of conditions which will be advised by the practitioner. Dark circular marks are usually left on the skin typically 3 to 5 days, could be more if the skin type is very fair.
